Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has issued multiple weather alerts as thunderstorms continue across the Kingdom on Saturday, October 3, 2026. Red-level warnings for heavy rain are active in parts of Makkah, Asir and Jazan as potentially hazardous weather conditions develop.
The latest official alerts indicate varying levels of rainfall across several regions, with the highest warning level applying to locations expected to experience the most significant conditions. Heavy rainfall may be accompanied by several weather hazards capable of affecting roads and horizontal visibility.
The NCM early-warning system shows four red alerts for heavy rain, including Taif in the Makkah region, locations in Asir including Abha, and several governorates in Jazan. Orange warnings for moderate rainfall are also in effect across additional locations.
In Jazan, the red alert covers Al-Harth, Al-Dair, Al-Rayth, Al-Aridah, Al-Aidabi, Fayfa and Harub from noon until 8:00 p.m. Associated hazards include high-speed winds, severely reduced horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods and thunderstorms.
The developing conditions make it important to follow official NCM updates and location-specific warnings throughout the day. Alert levels and affected locations can differ between governorates and may change as the weather system develops and new official information becomes available.
