Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy began scheduled maintenance work across the country’s electrical networks on October 1, 2026, as part of its annual plan to improve system efficiency, strengthen readiness and minimize emergency outages.
The maintenance program covers key components of Kuwait’s electricity transmission and distribution networks, including main substations, overhead power lines, underground cables and secondary substations, with the work being carried out under an organized schedule.
Ministry spokesperson Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat said some maintenance operations may require temporary electricity disconnections in parts of specific areas. The relevant schedules will be announced through the Ministry’s official social media accounts.
Customers affected by scheduled maintenance will receive notifications through Kuwait’s unified government application Sahel, based on information registered with the Public Authority for Civil Information, allowing residents to receive updates linked to their registered details.
The Ministry will also provide a direct link through its official social media channels for customers to follow the status and different stages of maintenance work, including when operations begin and when they are completed, as part of efforts to improve service quality across Kuwait.
