A flydubai spokesperson said a relief crew on board the airline’s flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv diverted the aircraft before it landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Flydubai said in a statement that an altercation occurred inside the cockpit of flight FZ 1073, which was traveling from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport on September 30.

According to the airline, the relief crew traveling on board responded to the situation and diverted the flight to Tabuk Airport, where the aircraft landed safely.

The flydubai spokesperson said that, at this preliminary stage, the causes and motives behind the incident remain unknown and are subject to an official investigation.

The airline urged people to refrain from premature speculation while the relevant authorities gather the facts surrounding the incident and determine what occurred on board the flight.
