Flydubai has revealed new details about flight FZ 1073, which was traveling from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport on September 30, confirming that an altercation occurred inside the cockpit and prompted action to bring the situation under control.

A flydubai spokesperson said the airline’s crew on board managed to control the situation before diverting the aircraft and landing safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. The spokesperson confirmed that all passengers and crew members are safe.

The spokesperson added that flydubai dispatched two replacement flights to Tabuk, with the airline giving top priority to transporting the passengers and enabling them to continue their journey to Tel Aviv. Flights across the flydubai network continue to operate according to their normal schedule.

Regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, the spokesperson said the underlying causes and motives remain unknown at this preliminary stage and are subject to an official investigation. The airline urged everyone to refrain from premature speculation while the authorities gather the facts.

Flydubai stressed that its highest priority at this stage is ensuring the safety and well-being of the passengers and crew members involved in the incident, while also supporting the official investigation into what occurred.
