Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has issued red alerts for heavy rain across parts of Jazan and Asir on Friday, October 2, 2026, warning of severe weather conditions including flash floods, hail, thunderstorms and high-speed winds.

In Jazan, the red alerts cover Abu Arish, Ahad Al Masarihah, Al Tuwal, Al Fatiha, Samtah, Sabya and Damad, as well as Al Harth, Al Dair, Al Rayth, Al Aridah, Al Aidabi, Fayfa and Harub, according to the latest official early warning information.

The National Center for Meteorology said the heavy rainfall may be accompanied by high-speed winds, severely reduced or zero horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods and thunderstorms. Several of the alerts are scheduled to remain in effect from noon until 8:00 pm on Friday.

Parts of Asir are also under red alerts for heavy rain, including Al Namas, Balqarn and Tanomah. Similar hazardous conditions are expected, including flooding, hail, thunderstorms and significant reductions in visibility.

Other locations are under lower-level alerts. Moderate rain warnings cover Al Darb and Baysh in Jazan, as well as Ahad Rafidah, Khamis Mushait, Al Birk and Al Qahmah in Asir. The National Center for Meteorology’s official early warning platform remains the primary source for any changes to alert levels and affected locations throughout the day.
