Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attacks on civilian and economic sites in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, which left 73 civilians injured, including women and children.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also condemned the continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea, stressing that such attacks threaten international freedom of navigation and the security of global maritime trade.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its firm rejection of the hostile and criminal conduct pursued by the Houthi militia, stressing that these actions threaten the security and stability of Yemen and its wider Arab and Islamic surroundings, while continuing to undermine peace efforts.

The Kingdom reaffirmed its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty, protect its national resources, and safeguard the security of citizens and residents within its territory, in accordance with international law.

Saudi Arabia stressed that it will not tolerate any attack targeting its territory or national assets, while warning of the consequences of continued attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The Kingdom called for an immediate halt to all forms of escalation and to the ongoing threats posed by the Houthi militia to maritime security, particularly those affecting commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia also urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and implement the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 of 2015 and Resolution 2722 of 2024.
