The Ministry of Education has officially announced the full resumption of in-person learning for all students and children, along with teaching and administrative staff, across all educational institutions in the country, including nurseries, kindergartens, and both public and private schools, starting Monday, April 20, 2026, marking a major step toward normalizing the education system.
This decision follows the completion of comprehensive preparation and readiness plans, including ensuring the full readiness of school facilities and infrastructure, training teaching and administrative staff, and updating safety and security procedures to provide a stable and secure learning environment that reinforces confidence among students and parents.
The ministry emphasized that the return to in-person education is part of its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of educational quality, while strengthening direct interaction between students and teachers, which plays a critical role in improving academic performance and developing essential skills.
At the same time, private schools have been granted flexibility to implement hybrid learning models when necessary, under approved regulations and local educational authority supervision, with clear directives to organize staff distribution in a way that ensures balanced workloads and prevents teachers from handling both in-person and remote teaching simultaneously.
In conclusion, the ministry confirmed that educational institutions are fully prepared to transition smoothly between different learning modes if required, ensuring continuity without disruption, while the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research also announced the resumption of in-person learning for all university students and staff from the same date, with flexibility for some institutions to adopt hybrid or remote models when needed.
