The General Directorate of Ports at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, in cooperation with the National Anti-Narcotics Unit, successfully thwarted a high-risk attempt to smuggle cocaine through Zayed International Airport, highlighting the UAE’s advanced security readiness and its continuous efforts to protect society from illegal substances.

The operation unfolded after customs inspection teams identified precise indicators of suspicion on a passenger arriving from an African country, where behavioral analysis and field assessment demonstrated a high level of professionalism, prompting immediate action and subjecting the individual to advanced inspection procedures in line with strict security protocols.

Following the transfer of the passenger to a hospital for medical examination, tests confirmed the presence of foreign objects inside his body, leading to the extraction of 100 capsules containing cocaine, with a total weight of 1,418 grams, marking a significant seizure that underscores the precision and efficiency of airport security operations.

Authorities promptly completed the seizure report and initiated all necessary legal measures, transferring both the suspect and the confiscated substances to the competent authorities to proceed with investigations, ensuring strict enforcement of the law and reinforcing deterrence against such criminal activities.
