Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating in the first Dubai Environment Conference and Exhibition 2026, taking place in the United Arab Emirates on September 7 and 8 under the theme “Protecting Our Environment.

Safeguarding Our Future.” The event provides DEWA with an opportunity to showcase major initiatives supporting climate action, sustainability, clean energy and renewable power, while bringing experts and decision-makers together to discuss practical environmental solutions. 

DEWA Managing Director and CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer stressed the authority’s continued efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global model for sustainability and the green economy. 

A major highlight is the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar park based on the independent power producer model. The solar park currently has a production capacity of 3,860 megawatts, with plans to increase its capacity to more than 8,000 megawatts by 2030, reinforcing Dubai’s growing reliance on clean energy. 

DEWA’s projects are aligned with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to support the transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. The conference will also address the future of the circular economy, with DEWA’s Hamad Salem Al Shamsi taking part in a panel examining resource efficiency and solutions that go beyond traditional recycling.
