Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority has announced an upgrade to its Registered Worker Permit Data Display service, making it easier for workers covered by the registered worker system to access official information about their employment permits.

In an announcement published on October 5, 2026, the authority explained that the enhanced service allows registered workers to verify the status and validity of their work permits through the MyGov application using the enhanced eKey 2.0 authentication system.

The service uses the worker’s identity card number and passport number, together with the selection of the relevant country, to provide access to official work permit information through the government platform.

The development is particularly relevant to individuals covered by Bahrain’s registered worker system, as it offers direct access to permit details and helps beneficiaries remain informed about their current authorization status.

According to the authority, the improvements include a redesigned user interface, a simplified service experience and more consistent information across official government channels, making the service easier to understand and access.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Arabi, Deputy Chief Executive for Services and Business at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, said the development reflects the authority’s commitment to using digital technologies to improve service efficiency and provide a smoother experience for beneficiaries.

He explained that registered workers can now access their permit information directly and verify its status and validity, supporting greater transparency and easier access to information related to their employment authorization.

It is important to distinguish permit verification from permit issuance or renewal. The upgraded service allows eligible users to view and check existing permit information; it does not automatically issue a new permit or extend an existing permit’s validity.

The authority’s official service guidance confirms that applications for registered worker permits are subject to separate eligibility requirements and procedures, including submission through approved Labour Registration Centres and payment of the applicable fees.

The upgrade is part of a broader government service improvement programme in Bahrain. According to the authority, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, while approximately 800 have undergone development and process redesign across different sectors.
