The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has outlined the services available through its UAEICP smart application, which brings together a range of Emirates ID, residency and visa-related transactions on a unified digital platform for citizens and eligible residents.
According to the authority’s official website, the application supports the UAE’s digital government transformation by allowing users to access government services remotely, reducing paperwork and limiting the need for visits to customer service centers where procedures can be completed electronically.
The application’s services include issuing, renewing and replacing Emirates ID cards, as well as issuing and renewing residence permits through processes linked to identity card applications. This allows eligible users to manage related transactions through official digital channels.
UAEICP also provides access to visit visa applications, residence visa procedures and eligible visa extensions. Other features include passport and family information services for qualifying users, sponsorship file management, enquiries and payment of applicable fines.
The authority explains that the application integrates with UAE PASS, the country’s national digital identity system, allowing customers to authenticate themselves securely and access services associated with their personal records.
Additional features include a digital wallet for official documents, tools for managing family and sponsored individuals, notifications about upcoming renewals and appointments, and the ability to monitor application progress through electronic status updates.
To use the application, customers can download UAEICP from an official application store, sign in through UAE PASS, select the required service, complete the relevant information, upload supporting documents and pay the applicable charges before tracking the submitted request.
The availability of a service through the application does not remove its underlying legal requirements. Eligibility, supporting documents, fees and approvals vary according to the transaction, and certain procedures may require additional steps or verification.
Applicants should also distinguish between federal ICP services and immigration procedures handled by Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs. The UAE Government’s official portal explains that visa application and tracking channels may differ depending on the issuing emirate.
The authority encourages customers to use official digital channels, review the requirements displayed for each transaction and verify their information before submission, helping to protect personal data and avoid unofficial intermediaries or misleading applications.
