Emirates is an international airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, operating flights from Dubai International Airport to destinations worldwide.
Emirates is the international airline of the Emirates Group and is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded on 25 March 1985 and began operations on 25 October that year. Dubai International Airport is its main hub. The airline uses the IATA code EK and the ICAO code UAE. Its fleet is primarily built around Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Emirates connects Dubai with cities across Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Oceania. Fleet and destination totals change over time as aircraft are delivered, routes are revised and schedules are adjusted. The airline was established with support from the Government of Dubai and is associated with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Emirates Group. Its operations include passenger services and air cargo through the group network.
