Kuwait’s Cabinet has officially approved a long awaited public holiday for Eid Al Adha, granting a six day break that will begin on Tuesday May 26 2026 and continue until Sunday May 31, providing an extended period for rest and celebration in line with one of the most important religious occasions in the Islamic calendar.

The decision was issued during a Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah, where it was confirmed that all ministries, government entities, public authorities, and institutions will suspend operations during the holiday period in observance of Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha for the Hijri year 1447.

This announcement represents a significant and positive development for public sector employees in Kuwait, offering them a valuable opportunity to plan travel, enjoy family gatherings, and participate in festive activities, as the Eid season typically brings increased social engagement and entertainment across the country.
