Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has released its weather forecast for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, warning of continued thunderstorms, potentially heavy rainfall, active winds, and fog across several regions of the Kingdom, alongside varying levels of official early warnings.
The center forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms over parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah, with rainfall potentially causing flash floods. The conditions may also include hail showers and strong winds, increasing risks in valleys and locations vulnerable to surface water accumulation.
Rain-bearing thunderclouds accompanied by winds capable of raising dust are also expected over parts of Madinah, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, and the Eastern Province. The severity of these conditions may vary considerably between individual locations.
Significantly, the official early-warning dashboard for the Eastern Province displayed two red alerts for dense fog, including one affecting Dammam and additional locations. The same regional dashboard also listed two orange fog alerts and one yellow alert for light rainfall.
Fog may additionally form in parts of the rain-affected regions and along coastal areas of the Eastern Province and Tabuk. The official Tabuk dashboard showed three yellow alerts involving active winds and light fog.
Motorists, residents, and travellers are encouraged to consult local warnings before making journeys, especially where fog reduces visibility or heavy rainfall affects roads. People should avoid crossing flooded valleys and follow instructions issued by the relevant emergency and weather authorities.
