Schools across the United Arab Emirates following the Ministry of Education curriculum resume classes on Monday, October 19, 2026, following the first-semester mid-term break under the officially approved academic calendar.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that the mid-term holiday ran from October 12 to October 18, with students returning to classrooms to continue their scheduled lessons and academic activities.
The return comes at an important stage of the academic year, as schools prepare students for upcoming assessments. The detailed calendar schedules mock examinations from November 18 to November 20, followed by end-of-term examinations from November 25 to November 27.
Additional end-of-term examinations are scheduled from December 7 to December 11, allowing schools to complete the required assessments before the winter holiday begins.
According to the approved calendar, the winter break starts on December 14, 2026, and classes resume on January 4, 2027. Certain private schools following other curricula may operate under approved local variations.
Parents are encouraged to consult their children’s school calendars, monitor assessment schedules, and ensure regular attendance throughout the remaining weeks of the semester.
