Dubai has officially launched the “Our Flexible Summer” initiative for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to building a modern government work environment that prioritizes employee wellbeing, productivity, and future readiness through flexible and human-centric policies.

The initiative will run from June 29 to September 10, 2026, introducing two flexible working models designed to balance employee needs with operational requirements while maintaining uninterrupted government services and high institutional efficiency.

Under the framework, the first group will work seven hours per day from Monday to Thursday and four and a half hours on Friday, while the second group will work eight hours per day from Monday to Thursday with Friday off, alongside options for remote work or flexible schedules based on each entity’s operational needs.

The initiative reflects a strategic approach by Dubai Government Human Resources to design policies grounded in real employee feedback, helping professionals better manage work responsibilities alongside family commitments, especially during the busy summer and school holiday period.

Beyond workplace benefits, the initiative strengthens family cohesion and overall quality of life by allowing employees more time with their families, while supporting Dubai’s broader vision of a flexible, sustainable, and globally competitive government model focused on human wellbeing and innovation.
