Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, October 22, 2026, that the General Traffic Department had carried out a traffic enforcement campaign targeting motorcycles used for delivery services, as part of efforts to improve road discipline and reduce dangerous driving practices.

According to a statement reported by the Kuwait News Agency, the operation was supervised by Brigadier Ahmed Al Azmi, Head of the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, and led by Brigadier Rashid Al Hajri, Director General of the General Traffic Department, with the participation of Colonel Ayoub Fathallah, Assistant Director General for Traffic Regulation.

Traffic patrols monitored delivery motorcycle riders and checked their compliance with road regulations and the requirements governing delivery operations. The campaign focused on practices that could endanger riders, motorists and pedestrians.

The ministry identified several violations, including failure to remain on the right side of the road, improper overtaking, riding between vehicles and driving onto or off pavements in ways that breach traffic regulations.

Other violations involved the absence of required lighting on delivery boxes and failure to wear reflective safety vests. Such equipment is particularly important for improving visibility and reducing risks when motorcycles operate during evening hours.

The campaign resulted in several offenders being detained under traffic procedures, multiple traffic citations being issued, and a number of motorcycles and other vehicles being impounded pending further legal action.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that appropriate legal measures would be taken against violators, including referring individuals who meet the applicable conditions for deportation to the relevant authorities. This does not mean that every traffic violation automatically results in deportation, as each case is subject to the applicable legal requirements.

The ministry stated that inspection and enforcement campaigns targeting delivery motorcycles would continue across different parts of Kuwait. It also urged riders and delivery companies to comply with traffic regulations and ensure that all necessary safety requirements are met.

The announcement highlights Kuwait’s continuing efforts to regulate delivery operations and protect road users. Companies and workers are encouraged to review their obligations and avoid unsafe practices that may lead to penalties, vehicle impoundment or further legal proceedings.
