Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has announced improvements to its security arrangements service for events, introducing a more streamlined application process designed to save time and effort for individuals and organizations while supporting the Kingdom’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

Under the upgraded service, applicants can submit their requests electronically without visiting police directorates in person. The change is intended to reduce unnecessary administrative visits and make the process more accessible to event organizers.

One of the most significant improvements is the reduction in the service’s processing time from 20 working days to just five working days, representing a 75% decrease compared with the previous timeframe.

The ministry also confirmed that the number of required documents has been reduced by 50%, while the period specified under the service-level agreement has been shortened by at least 25%, alongside improvements to the systems used to process applications.

Additional changes include converting application forms into electronic formats and standardizing service information published across government channels, helping applicants understand requirements and complete their submissions more efficiently.

Major General Adel Abdullah Amin, Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources and Head of the Ministry of Interior’s Development and Procedures Unification Team, said the initiative forms part of the ministry’s efforts to simplify administrative processes and improve service efficiency.

He emphasized that electronic applications would make government services easier to access, improve the experience of beneficiaries and reduce the number of procedures requiring in-person attendance.

The announcement comes amid broader government efforts to modernize public services in Bahrain. More than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, with approximately 800 undergoing development or process redesign across different sectors.

These improvements have drawn on feedback collected through the national Tawasul suggestions and complaints system, observations submitted by investors and assessments of government service delivery.

The upgraded process is expected to help event organizers plan more efficiently by reducing waiting periods and simplifying applications, while maintaining the security and regulatory requirements applicable to individual events.
