The Kuwait Fire Force has carried out a large inspection campaign in Farwaniya Governorate, resulting in the closure of 34 sites and the issuance of 115 notices as authorities intensify enforcement of safety regulations in industrial areas.
The campaign was conducted by the Prevention Department in Farwaniya as part of ongoing efforts to expand field inspections and ensure that businesses, workshops and other facilities comply with required fire and public-safety standards.
Authorities also warned 15 additional sites that they could face closure if recorded violations are not corrected in accordance with the procedures and deadlines set by the relevant authorities.
Inspection teams focus on checking fire-prevention systems, emergency equipment, exits and other safety requirements, while identifying violations that could put workers, visitors or neighbouring properties at risk.
The latest operation forms part of wider efforts by the Kuwait Fire Force to improve safety standards in industrial areas, where workshops, warehouses and commercial facilities require strict compliance with fire-prevention and emergency regulations.
Prevention teams carry out regular field visits to identify safety breaches and assess whether establishments are taking the required corrective action, with enforcement measures depending on the seriousness and nature of each violation.
Administrative closure is among the measures that may be used against locations where violations require immediate intervention, while other establishments can receive notices or warnings giving them an opportunity to correct problems before stronger action is taken.
The Kuwait Fire Force has repeatedly stressed that safety requirements are not merely administrative formalities but are essential measures designed to protect lives and property and reduce the risk of fires and other emergencies.
The campaign also seeks to improve organisation in industrial zones and address practices that could obstruct emergency access, interfere with evacuation routes or compromise the effectiveness of firefighting equipment.
Inspection campaigns are expected to continue in Farwaniya and other governorates, while sites that have received notices or warnings will remain subject to follow-up checks to ensure that violations are corrected and safety requirements are fully met.
