The UAE Ministry of Education has announced the official summer vacation schedule for students, teachers, and administrative staff for the 2025-2026 academic year, along with return dates ahead of the new 2026-2027 school year.
According to the approved academic calendar, students will begin their summer holiday on July 3, 2026, immediately after completing the third-term final examinations. Their vacation will last approximately eight weeks and two days before classes resume on August 31, 2026. Meanwhile, teaching and administrative staff in public schools and private schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum will start their summer break on July 18, 2026. The holiday will continue until August 23, with staff returning to schools on August 24 to prepare for the upcoming academic year.
Exams and Results Before the Holiday
Students will complete the academic year on July 3 after taking third-term final exams scheduled between June 24 and July 3, 2026. The Ministry has also scheduled make-up examinations from July 6 to July 9, followed by the analysis and release of end-of-year results on July 12 and 13.
Professional Training for School Staff
Before the summer vacation begins, administrative and teaching staff will participate in specialized professional development programs from July 13 to July 17, aimed at enhancing readiness and improving educational performance ahead of the new school year. At the same time, schools will conduct retake examinations for eligible students between July 14 and July 17, while retake results are scheduled to be released on July 20, 2026.
Preparations for the New Academic Year
Teaching and administrative staff will return to schools on August 24, one week before students, allowing schools sufficient time to finalize academic plans, schedules, and organizational preparations.
