The General Traffic Department has announced a full closure of the intersection between Blajat Al-Shuhada Street and Sheikh Salem Sabah Al-Salem Street, commonly known as the Coastal Road, in the Fahaheel area. The closure takes effect starting Saturday and will continue for one full week as part of traffic regulation and infrastructure improvement efforts.
According to officials, the closure will affect all directions at the intersection, completely halting vehicle movement through this key junction during the specified period. Authorities confirmed that the road will be reopened once the scheduled works are completed.
The decision comes as part of broader initiatives to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow in high-density areas. Fahaheel is considered one of the busiest areas in the region, making such measures essential for long-term efficiency and commuter safety.
Regarding traffic diversions, the department clarified that vehicles coming from the Marine Club intersection will be redirected to Blajat Al-Shuhada Street, ensuring continued movement and minimizing congestion as much as possible.
Motorists are strongly advised to follow traffic instructions and warning signs placed around the area, plan their trips in advance, and use alternative routes to avoid delays. Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is essential to complete the works efficiently and restore normal traffic conditions.
