The National Center of Meteorology has issued a weather report for today, forecasting continued thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds across parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions. These weather conditions are expected to extend into the mountainous areas of the Makkah region. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm clouds forming over the southern parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh.
Additionally, active winds stirring dust and sand are predicted to affect areas in the Northern Borders, Al-Qassim, Riyadh, and Najran regions. This could lead to near-zero visibility in some parts of the Eastern Province and along the coastal areas of Madinah and Makkah.
The Red Sea is expected to see northwesterly to westerly surface winds blowing at speeds of 15-40 km/h, increasing to over 50 km/h with thunderstorm activity in southern sections. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, potentially reaching more than two meters when thunderstorms occur. The sea state will vary from light to moderate, becoming rough with stormy conditions in the south.
In contrast, the Arabian Gulf will experience northwesterly to westerly winds at 20-45 km/h in its northern and central parts. In the southern part, winds will shift from northeasterly to northwesterly at speeds between 10-32 km/h. Wave heights are expected from one meter to two meters in northern and central areas, while the southern part will see waves from half a meter to one and a half meters. The sea condition is anticipated to be moderate in the north and center, with light to moderate waves in the south.
