Joni Lamb, co-founder of the influential Christian television network, Daystar, has passed away at the age of 65. Her death was announced on Thursday. Joni was instrumental in transforming Daystar into one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks globally.
The network issued a statement revealing that Joni had been facing serious health issues prior to her passing. While she experienced a back injury that worsened her condition, the exact cause of death was not disclosed.
In a message from Daystar's board of directors, they expressed that it was Joni's profound love for God and people that shaped their ministry from its inception. They emphasized that her legacy would endure and assured that a leadership team remains in place to continue her work.
Building an International Network
Joni and her husband Marcus Lamb, who died in 2021, embarked on their broadcasting journey in 1993 with a single station in Dallas. A few years later, Joni began hosting her popular daily program aimed at women.
Based in Bedford, Texas, the Daystar network expanded its reach to over 200 countries. It became a platform for prominent evangelists like Joel Osteen and T.D. Jakes. Currently, the network is accessible in about 2.3 billion households worldwide.
Rooted in Pentecostal Tradition
The programming at Daystar is deeply rooted in Pentecostal tradition, a Christian denomination noted for its spiritual worship and belief in contemporary miracles and spiritual warfare.
On-Air Presence and Personal Life
Beyond her executive role, Joni was also visible on-screen as the host of "Joni Table Talk," where she discussed various issues impacting everyday life.

In 2010, Joni stood by her husband Marcus when he admitted on television to having had an affair some years prior. Marcus alleged that there were attempts by three individuals to extort money from him to keep quiet about the affair.
In response to this revelation, Joni stated she felt devastated but prayed for guidance from the Holy Spirit, who assured her that her husband was worth fighting for. The couple worked through their challenges privately.
A New Chapter
Two years after Marcus's death at age 64, Joni married Doug Weiss. Together they co-hosted the show "Ministry Now."
