A report from Fox News, citing the president of the American transportation company Seafis Group, has emerged detailing an alleged drone attack on their commercial ship, the 'Nehia.' The incident reportedly involved two Iranian drones targeting the vessel while it was situated in the Gulf near Doha, Qatar.

At the time of the attack, the 'Nehia' was anchored close to the Qatari capital and carried no cargo. The vessel had a crew of 23 sailors onboard, all of whom escaped unharmed from the incident.

This event is part of escalating tensions in the Gulf region that intensified on May 7. That evening witnessed a series of retaliatory strikes between Iran and the United States.

According to Iranian state television, a U.S. military assault on an Iranian oil tanker was cited as a catalyst for this escalation. In retaliation, Iran reportedly targeted three American destroyers stationed near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) responded by launching retaliatory strikes against military targets within Iranian territory.

This confrontation occurs amidst an ongoing maritime embargo imposed by the United States on Iranian ports. Today, Sunday, CENTCOM revealed that they have redirected 61 commercial vessels and blocked four others to enforce this embargo.
