The UAE Talent Competitiveness Council has confirmed that new NAFIS initiatives under the Year of the Family will begin next month, The initiatives include salary support for children of Emirati mothers working in the private and banking sectors, as well as support for non-Emirati wives of Emirati citizens working in the same sectors. Financial support will range from AED 1,000 to AED 3,000 per month, subject to specific eligibility requirements and controls.
NAFIS announced that applicants for salary support for children of Emirati mothers must meet six main conditions. The applicant must be the son or daughter of an Emirati mother at the time of application and must continue to hold that status throughout the entire support period. The applicant must also work in the private or banking sector for an establishment registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or licensed by the Central Bank.
Other requirements include holding a valid employment contract approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation or the Central Bank, with wages paid through officially approved systems or the Wage Protection System. Applicants must hold at least an accredited bachelor’s degree and have a monthly salary ranging from AED 6,000 to AED 20,000. Applications can be submitted through the NAFIS platform using UAE Pass after entering the mother’s Emirates ID number to verify eligibility.
For salary support available to non-Emirati wives of Emirati citizens working in the private and banking sectors, the applicant must be married to an Emirati citizen and must not hold Emirati nationality. Her monthly salary must range from AED 6,000 to AED 15,000, and she must hold at least a bachelor’s degree accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. She must also have at least two children with her Emirati husband or have been married for at least five years.
Four categories may be exempt from the requirements related to the number of children and the five-year marriage period, provided that the marriage has lasted for at least two years and all other exemption requirements are met. These categories include medical professionals holding medical qualifications, teachers and educational professionals, women holding accredited doctoral degrees, and women employed in vital occupations in the labour market. Applications and follow-up procedures are completed through the NAFIS platform using UAE Pass by entering the husband’s Emirates ID number, verifying eligibility, completing registration, uploading the required documents, and tracking the application through the beneficiary’s account.
