Bahrain’s Labour Ministry has developed a new digital service titled “Job Seeker Request to Postpone Job Interview Appointment” as part of ongoing government efforts to improve service quality and redesign procedures.
The service enables job seekers to submit a request in advance to postpone a scheduled job interview, with each request reviewed according to approved regulations.
The service development included an improved user interface, simplified procedures and a fully digital service process. Previously, job seekers had to contact the ministry by telephone, email or the national Tawasul system to submit reasons for postponement. Following the development, beneficiaries can now access the national employment platform directly and submit their postponement reasons electronically.
Under the new process, job seekers must submit the reason for postponement electronically one day before the scheduled interview. The updated system provides a simpler digital process for submitting requests while also standardizing the service information published across different channels, making the procedures and requirements clearer for beneficiaries.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Labour Ministry, said the service forms part of the ministry’s continued efforts to adopt innovative digital solutions that improve the beneficiary experience, increase service efficiency and accelerate completion.
He added that the development reflects the ministry’s commitment to improving the quality of procedures and services provided to beneficiaries and strengthening the effectiveness of the overall work system.
The development of this service is part of broader government efforts to redesign public services in Bahrain. More than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, while 800 services have undergone development and redesign across various government sectors.
These efforts have been informed by proposals and feedback submitted through the national Tawasul system, investor feedback and mystery shopper reports evaluating government services, alongside the introduction of guidance manuals and service-level agreements to improve procedural efficiency, service quality, beneficiary experience and government digital transformation.
