The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in the United Arab Emirates has announced a new phase in upgrading work permit services, introducing a comprehensive transformation aimed at simplifying procedures and accelerating transaction processing while significantly enhancing the overall customer experience across the labor market ecosystem.

The ministry confirmed that the initiative is part of a broader government strategy focused on modernizing public services, noting that it has opened a public consultation channel to gather feedback and suggestions from customers and stakeholders until the end of July, ensuring that service development reflects real user needs and market expectations.

According to the ministry, the consultation will specifically address redesigning the workflow of issuing work permits and reducing procedural requirements, a move expected to streamline operations, minimize administrative complexity, and improve compliance with labor regulations while increasing efficiency across the system.

In line with these efforts, the ministry highlighted a recent major transformation under the Zero Bureaucracy initiative, where document submission requirements were completely eliminated for certain services, and data entry fields were reduced by up to ninety seven percent, resulting in significantly faster processing times and a smoother user journey.

The ministry also emphasized that all work permit services are now fully accessible عبر unified digital platforms, enabling employers and customers to complete transactions seamlessly online, reinforcing its commitment to delivering agile and integrated government services that support private sector sustainability, protect worker rights, and strengthen the competitiveness of the UAE labor market in alignment with the country’s long term development vision.
