In a decisive move signaling a full return to normal operations, Kuwait’s Council of Ministers has approved raising government employee attendance to 100 percent while restoring official working hours to their full schedule, alongside the resumption of in-person classes for high school students starting next Sunday.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, where officials reviewed current conditions and operational requirements across government entities, leading to a unified directive to enhance workforce presence and institutional efficiency.

Authorities instructed the Civil Service Commission to immediately implement the full attendance policy effective from the morning of May 3 2026, while also suspending the previous circular that had imposed limits on workforce numbers, effectively ending reduced attendance measures.

The move also includes reinstating full working hours across government sectors including evening shifts, a step aimed at boosting productivity and ensuring seamless service delivery across all public institutions in alignment with national recovery objectives.

Simultaneously the cabinet approved the return of physical classroom learning for secondary school students across all education systems following a comprehensive briefing from the Minister of Education confirming readiness and stability within the education sector to support the transition.
