Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has announced the results of a large-scale security and traffic enforcement campaign in the Capital Governorate, resulting in the arrest of 232 wanted persons and violators and a total of 775 security and traffic actions. The operation formed part of the authorities’ ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and enforce residency, labor, and traffic regulations.

According to a ministry statement published on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the campaign was conducted by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate under the Security Directorates Affairs Sector, in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.

The operation aimed to increase the presence of security personnel, identify individuals wanted by the authorities, detect residency and employment violations, and address other offenses affecting public order and safety across the governorate.

The ministry reported that officers arrested 111 wanted persons and 104 individuals for violations of residency and labor regulations. These figures highlight the operation’s focus on both individuals sought by law enforcement and those found to be in breach of applicable immigration or employment requirements.

Traffic enforcement was another major component of the campaign. Officers issued 454 traffic citations and identified 32 vehicles wanted by judicial authorities. One vehicle was impounded for traffic violations, while one individual was placed in traffic detention.

The ministry also reported two violations involving parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. These cases formed part of the wider traffic enforcement activity conducted during the operation.

Additional arrests included four individuals found in possession of intoxicating substances, four individuals accused of gambling, and four workers classified as absconding or irregular workers. Two individuals were also arrested in connection with narcotic substances, while another two were detained for illegal street vending.

Kuwait Municipality participated in the campaign by removing 51 abandoned vehicles. The measure was intended to address neglected vehicles and related violations in public areas covered by the operation.

Meanwhile, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition recorded three violation reports against a commercial establishment accused of selling spoiled meat. This aspect of the campaign demonstrated cooperation between security agencies and food safety regulators in addressing risks to consumers.

The Interior Ministry confirmed that the campaign resulted in 775 security and traffic actions in total. This figure represents a combination of arrests, citations, seizures, removals, and other enforcement measures, rather than the number of individuals arrested.

The ministry added that the relevant authorities had taken the necessary legal action against those arrested or cited, in accordance with each agency’s responsibilities and the nature of the violations involved. The announcement did not establish a single penalty applicable to everyone detained during the operation.

For citizens, expatriate residents, employers, and motorists, the announcement serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining valid residency and employment documentation, complying with traffic regulations, and ensuring that business activities meet applicable legal and safety requirements.

The campaign reflects Kuwait’s continuing efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance and public security through coordinated operations involving multiple government bodies. Residents are encouraged to rely on official announcements for accurate information about enforcement activities and any subsequent legal developments.
