United Arab Emirates

Fair to partly cloudy weather is forecast across the UAE on Friday, October 16, with convective clouds expected to form over eastern areas during the afternoon and a possibility of rainfall, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

The cloud development could lead to showers in some eastern locations as the day progresses. Elsewhere, conditions are expected to remain generally fair to partly cloudy.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 37°C in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, while the minimum temperature in each of the three emirates is expected to be 29°C.

Winds will be light to moderate, initially southeasterly before turning northwesterly. They may become fresh at times near cloud formations, with speeds of up to 40kmph. The NCM said blowing dust may occur, which could reduce visibility.

Humidity is expected to increase overnight on Friday and into Saturday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Fog or mist may form in those locations.

Sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

On Thursday, the country’s highest recorded temperature was 43.5°C in Sweihan, Al Ain, at 12:45pm.
