In a significant security breakthrough, the Criminal Security Sector announced the arrest of a five-member gang of Bangladeshi nationals involved in forging government stamps and selling them at discounted prices below their official value, aiming to generate illegal financial gains.

The Ministry of Interior stated in an official release that the operation followed intensive investigations and intelligence gathering led by the General Department of Criminal Investigations, with Residency Affairs Investigations successfully tracking and apprehending the suspects.

Investigations revealed that the gang had been actively distributing forged government stamps in and around hospitals, targeting expatriates and certain companies by offering stamps of five and ten dinars at reduced prices, which helped expand their illegal operation before being uncovered.

Authorities seized multiple tools used in the forgery process, including a laptop, a printer, and specialized stamp rolls, while further findings confirmed that the suspects had stolen official stamp paper rolls from a hospital and exploited them to produce highly convincing counterfeit stamps.

The ministry confirmed that all legal measures have been taken against the suspects, who have been referred along with the seized materials to the competent authorities, reiterating its commitment to ongoing security campaigns aimed at protecting public funds and preventing manipulation of official documents.
