Lewis Cook hit the post with a penalty before Sparta went ahead through Gambian forward Ebrima Singhateh, who ran from his own half to score. The hosts were reduced to 10 players before the interval when Tobias Guddal was sent off.

Tyler Adams equalised for Bournemouth in the 57th minute. Evanilson put the visitors in front nine minutes from time, before Rayan added a late third goal as Bournemouth’s substitutes helped secure a fourth successive European win.

Marco Rose’s side have now won seven matches in a row in all competitions ahead of a Premier League trip to Ipswich.

“It’s a big achievement and we have to continue, we need to stay alert, sharp,” Rose told TNT Sports. “It’s up to us to use this momentum. Everyone tries to beat us, if we get in a comfort zone just a little bit we get in trouble.”

Milan remain outside top 24

AC Milan lost 2-0 at home to Ferencvaros, leaving them outside the top 24 of the league phase with three points at the halfway stage. Haiti international Lenny Joseph scored twice in the second half at San Siro for Ferencvaros, who remained perfect in Europe despite Bamidele Yusuf’s dismissal.

“We gifted opportunities, made stupid errors. We were not prepared to play football tonight,” Amorim told Sky Sport. “I don’t want to lie to my players. We cannot play like this in front of our own fans. It was a very poor performance.”

Amorim said Milan would continue fighting in the competition while qualification remained mathematically possible.

Benfica lead the way

Benfica stayed top of the standings on goal difference after beating Lech Poznan 3-1 in Portugal. Rafa Silva, Gianluca Prestianni and Georgiy Sudakov scored for Benfica, who sit ahead of Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen suffered their first dropped points with a 1-0 home defeat to Marseille, who had lost their opening three matches. Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Hoffenheim after Daichi Kamada scored in stoppage time, having seen Adam Wharton dismissed for a second yellow card. Palace have five points from four Europa League games.

Sunderland’s unbeaten start ended with a 2-0 home loss to Dinamo Zagreb, while Celtic earned their first points by beating Besiktas 3-2 in Glasgow, with substitute Camilo Duran scoring twice. Juventus beat AZ Alkmaar 2-1 through goals from Teun Koopmeiners and Randal Kolo Muani to reach 10 points.

In the Conference League, Brighton won 1-0 at Getafe through a second-half Malick Yalcouye header. Ajax beat Midtjylland 6-1 in Denmark, while Hearts lost 3-1 away to Thun and remain without a win.
