The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in the State of Kuwait hosted a delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority at Al-Wafra Station, highlighting continued efforts to strengthen coordination and exchange expertise in the power and regional interconnection sectors.

The visit included a field tour of the station, where the delegation reviewed its operational systems and daily activities. The team also examined the facility’s role in supporting electricity exchanges and maintaining the reliability and stability of the Gulf power interconnection network.

Kuwait’s ministry said the visit forms part of broader joint efforts to advance the Gulf interconnection system, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the reliability of the regional electricity network.

The visiting delegation included Gulf Interconnection Authority CEO Eng. Ahmed Al-Ebrahim, Deputy CEO for Networks Eng. Mohammed Al-Sheikh, Abu Dhabi Department of Energy official Ahmed Al-Rumaithi, and Emirates Water and Electricity Company Vice President for Operations Issa Al-Zarouni.

The delegation was received by Kuwait’s Assistant Undersecretary for Power Stations and Water Distillation Eng. Haitham Al-Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Monitoring, Control Centers and Supervision Eng. Fatima Johar Hayat, along with several ministry officials and engineers.
