Dubai will begin introducing redesigned signs for neighbourhoods, streets and house numbers this year, as part of a programme intended to cover 186 areas across the emirate by 2030.
The first phase will involve the installation or replacement of more than 2,000 signs. It will cover Za’abeel 1, Za’abeel 2, Nad Al Sheba, Al Khawaneej 1 and Nazwa.
The updated system will use five colours, with each shade reflecting the character of the area where the signs are installed. Blue will be used for locations close to the sea, while gold will identify desert areas.
The changes will apply to area markers, street-name signs and house-number plates as Dubai introduces the new visual identity across the emirate.
