Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority announced that it carried out 4,847 inspection campaigns and visits during September 2026 as part of continuing efforts to ensure compliance with labour market and residency regulations across the Kingdom.

The inspection activity resulted in the detention of 67 violating and irregular workers, while 547 violators were deported after the relevant legal procedures were taken against cases found to be in breach of Bahrain’s laws and regulations.

The authority said the inspections also identified a number of violations involving legislation governing the labour market, particularly provisions related to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and residency regulations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to the official figures, 4,675 inspection visits were carried out at shops and other establishments across all governorates, in addition to 172 joint inspection campaigns conducted in coordination with other government entities.

The joint campaigns included 74 operations in the Capital Governorate, 22 in Muharraq Governorate, 67 in the Northern Governorate and 19 in the Southern Governorate, highlighting the broad geographical coverage of the enforcement activity.

Several government agencies participated in the inspections alongside the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, including Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, police directorates in the governorates, Civil Defence and the Coast Guard, as well as other government bodies.

The authority said coordination with government agencies will continue in order to intensify inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom and address practices that may negatively affect labour market stability, competitiveness and Bahrain’s economic and social security.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority also renewed its call for members of the public, employers and workers to support government efforts to combat illegal labour practices by reporting suspected violations through the official channels provided by the authority.
