A recent analysis conducted by Russia's Federal State Statistics Service, known as Rosstat, has revealed that gasoline prices have fallen in 25 regions across the country from August 10 to August 17.
The most significant decrease was observed in the Republic of Tuva, where prices dropped by 3.46%. In Eastern Siberia, the Republic of Khakassia also experienced a notable reduction of over 3% in fuel costs.
Additionally, three other regions saw declines exceeding 2%, including the Republic of Dagestan and the Kostroma and Voronezh provinces.
Price reductions above 1% were reported in the Tyumen and Kemerovo regions, as well as in the Republics of Chechnya and Crimea. In contrast, another 15 regions experienced more modest decreases of less than 1%.
At the end of July, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that the domestic fuel market was showing signs of stabilization. This was attributed to easing restrictions on fuel distribution at service stations and shorter queue times.
Earlier this summer, Russia faced challenges with its fuel supply chain due to disruptions caused by changes in logistics and supply routes, alongside Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities.
To address these issues, the Russian government implemented several measures such as banning gasoline and diesel exports, offering tax incentives to boost fuel imports, and increasing local production.
