Eric Trump, son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has strongly refuted circulating rumors regarding the nature of his father's relationship with veteran White House aide Natalie Harp, labeling these claims as "absolute nonsense."
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Eric Trump praised Harp, describing her as "an exceptional young woman" who is both a cancer survivor and a genuinely good person. He emphasized her dedication, stating, "She is arguably one of the hardest-working individuals in the White House... completely committed to my father, her work, and this country."
Eric Trump also criticized CNN, accusing the network of being nothing more than "a joke rather than a legitimate media outlet." His comments came in response to assertions made by Preston Harp, Natalie Harp's estranged brother, during a CNN interview.
During the interview, anchor Erin Burnett referenced an incident from 2023 where Natalie Harp reportedly jumped into the trunk of a car in the presidential motorcade after being told there were no available seats. Preston Harp described the incident as somewhat concerning, characterizing it as "a kind of unhealthy obsession."
According to a report by The New York Times, Natalie Harp frequently accompanies Donald Trump on golfing trips and visits to his Mar-a-Lago resort. She is often seen by his side, sometimes carrying a printer to provide him with printed documents and staying late to assist with social media postings.
Natalie Harp battled bone cancer in 2019 and reportedly referred to Donald Trump as her "guardian in this life" in messages she sent to him. In response, Trump commended her bravery in fighting the illness. Harp has credited legislation passed by Trump in 2018 for granting her access to experimental treatments.
