The United Arab Emirates has introduced a flexible long-term tourist visa system designed to streamline entry procedures and enhance its position as a global destination, allowing travelers of all nationalities to apply for a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa without the need for a local sponsor.

This visa allows holders to stay in the country for up to 90 consecutive days per visit, with the option to extend for another 90 days, provided the total stay does not exceed 180 days within a single year, offering significant flexibility for tourism, family visits, and business exploration.

The total cost of the visa is AED 750, covering application and issuance fees, in addition to a refundable bank guarantee of AED 3,025, while the processing time is notably efficient, with approvals typically completed within one working day after fulfilling all requirements.

Applicants must meet several key conditions, including submitting a stamped and certified bank statement for the last six months showing a minimum monthly balance of $4,000 or equivalent, along with valid UAE-issued health insurance covering 180 days, with the option to apply as a family group for children under 18.

Visa holders are required to enter the UAE within 60 days from the date of issuance and must comply with the maximum stay limits, noting that the annual calculation period begins from the date of first entry, not from the issuance date or the start of the calendar year.

The visa is classified as multiple-entry, allowing travelers to enter and exit the UAE multiple times during its validity, as long as each stay does not exceed 90 days, extendable under the same conditions, with a strict annual cap of 180 days.

Authorities clarified that unused days within the year cannot be carried forward to the following year, making it essential for travelers to plan their visits strategically.

Non-compliance with the permitted duration of stay may result in immediate visa cancellation and forfeiture of the financial guarantee, reflecting strict enforcement of residency regulations.

On the other hand, the financial guarantee is refundable upon visa cancellation, expiration, or if the applicant becomes exempt under applicable laws, while violations of entry and residency regulations trigger direct deduction of the guarantee.

Applications can be submitted through digital smart platforms, mobile applications, customer happiness centers, or authorized typing offices, with required documents including a personal photo, passport copy, valid health insurance, bank statement, and a travel ticket, noting that requirements may vary slightly depending on the submitted data.
