Fantasy Premier League managers planning for gameweek seven may look to Arsenal’s back line, with Riccardo Calafiori priced at £5.9m identified as a strong way into Mikel Arteta’s defence.
De Cuyper has been the leading option, but Arsenal defensive coverage is also presented as a sensible consideration. Under Arteta, Arsenal are expected to continue as the league’s best defensive unit, making Calafiori an appealing route for FPL squads.
Managers can also consider players who regularly collect defensive contribution points, known as defcon. Leeds’ Tarik Muharemovic (£5m), Brighton’s Luka Vuskovic (£5.1m), Bournemouth’s Antonio Silva (£5m) and Everton centre-back James Tarkowski (£6.2m) were highlighted as options.
All four are described as dependable defcon performers. They also represent teams considered defensively solid and not prone to conceding heavily.
