Dubai Police announced that the fine for operating an electric scooter in a manner that poses a direct threat to the safety of the rider or others is set at three hundred dirhams.

The security authority clarified through an official post on the X platform that safe riding guidelines require utilizing designated tracks and avoiding pedestrian pathways completely.

The directives emphasized the mandatory use of helmets safety vests elbow and knee pads alongside a strict ban on using mobile phones or earphones while riding with only one person per scooter.

These measures coincide with the joint launch of a specialized monitoring unit by the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police to regulate personal mobility devices across the emirate.

The specialized unit commenced its field operations starting from the first of May of the current year to monitor unsafe behaviors issue violations and impound non-compliant vehicles.
