The UAE has introduced the official visual identity for the 55th Eid Al Etihad, beginning a 55-day countdown to the national occasion on December 2. This year’s programme will centre on the families, communities and generations that have helped shape the country over the past 55 years.
The celebrations coincide with the UAE’s Year of Family and present the country as a “family of families”. The theme reflects the belonging and unity shared by citizens and residents, while drawing attention to the values, traditions and common experiences that link people throughout the Emirates.
The new identity takes its visual cues from traditional Emirati houses and architecture, cultural customs and the country’s natural landscapes. It incorporates recognisable settings and details intended to reflect the UAE’s heritage.
Its concept is modelled on a family photo album, bringing together archival photographs and contemporary images. The design is intended to portray ordinary moments alongside expressions of national pride and community spirit.
According to the 55th Eid Al Etihad Team, the identity tells the story of the UAE’s Union through the memories and experiences of its people, recognising the role families and communities have played in the country’s development across successive generations.
Eisa Alsubousi, Director of Strategic and Creative Affairs at the 55th Eid Al Etihad Team, said the occasion offers a moment to consider the country’s achievements and its future.
“The story of the UAE is one of resilience and a shared determination to build a better future. Over the past 55 years, generations have carried forward the values and traditions that give our nation its character, making the UAE a family of families united by a common sense of purpose and belonging,” Alsubousi said.
“The 55th Eid Al Etihad is an opportunity to honour that journey and look forward to what we can achieve together.”
Families and communities across the country are being encouraged to make preparations for their own celebrations and to join activities planned for the national occasion. Further announcements, stories and opportunities for public participation are due to be released during the 55 days before December 2.
