The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has officially confirmed that Kuwait International Airport is in a state of high alert and fully prepared to resume total operations, pending final approval from the relevant authorities.

cting Director General Duaij Al-Otaibi emphasized that the safety and security of passengers, along with the protection of their lives and property, remain the ultimate priority in all current operational maneuvers.

He revealed that while current precautionary security measures might cause slight delays for some travelers, they are essential pillars for ensuring maximum protection during this transitional phase.

In a move aimed at enhancing the travel experience, the DGCA disclosed that the airport’s main gate is expected to reopen within the coming days, following a comprehensive final assessment conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Force of General Fire.

Furthermore, authorities clarified that the current temporary suspension of using passenger bridges—utilizing buses for aircraft transfers instead—is under constant weekly review.

A return to the previous boarding system is anticipated very soon, as technical and security evaluations progress toward a full return to normalcy.

The DGCA also highlighted the remarkable resilience of Kuwait’s aviation infrastructure, noting that the control tower and radar systems, which were impacted during recent regional tensions, have been fully repaired in record time with the direct support of the political leadership.

This restoration comes alongside an official condemnation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which documented the damages as a violation of international civil aviation safety protocols.

Despite these challenges, the airport is now equipped with world-class facilities, including the new third runway and advanced navigation technologies, positioning Kuwait to become a leading regional logistical hub.

In an effort to ensure a smooth transition, aviation officials issued a strong advisory to the public, urging travelers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled flights.

The authorities cautioned against negative behaviors, such as making "no-show" bookings or arriving with unnecessary escorts, which can lead to avoidable congestion.
