His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, confirmed that the approved salary increases for Sharjah Government employees will cover all employees without exception, including those receiving higher salaries. He stressed that allocations across all salary levels will increase, while a new study is being prepared to consider additional increases for higher-paid categories.

The Sharjah Ruler had approved a package aimed at raising the minimum standard of living for beneficiaries under the Sharjah Government to AED 20,000 per month. The initiative carries an annual cost exceeding AED 1.187 billion and will take effect from September. The decision forms part of broader measures designed to strengthen financial stability and improve living standards for citizens covered by the new allocations.

The approval includes raising the minimum standard of living for families receiving social assistance from the Sharjah Government, benefiting 6,652 families at an annual cost of AED 195,130,164. It also covers retirees from the Sharjah Government, with 2,251 retirees benefiting from the decision at an annual cost of AED 113,056,572.

The package further raises the minimum standard of living for citizens who retired from outside the Sharjah Government through supplementary grants, benefiting 5,300 citizens at an annual cost of AED 159 million. In addition, the increase for Sharjah Government employees will benefit 17,776 employees, with an annual cost exceeding AED 720 million.

During a telephone intervention on the Al Khat Al Mubasher programme, the Sharjah Ruler said the authorities had worked as quickly as possible to complete and approve the increases for social assistance beneficiaries, government retirees, citizens retired from outside the Sharjah Government and government employees. He confirmed that every employee would receive an increase, including higher-paid employees, while a study of further increases for the highest-paid categories is now underway and will be reviewed next week. He also directed a 50% reduction in fees related to marine vehicle parking services, with the remaining amount allocated to fishermen’s associations, and urged citizens to manage their finances carefully, avoid unnecessary borrowing, save where possible and focus on raising their children with wisdom, kindness and dignity.
