The Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Disciplinary and Ethics Committee announced Monday that it has imposed penalties on Al Ahli's head coach, Matthias Jaissle, along with players Ivan Toney and Winderson Galeno, over inappropriate comments made during and after a recent match against Al-Fayha.
Jaissle faces a fine of 40,000 Saudi Riyals (approximately 10,500 USD) due to his offensive remarks directed at the officials of the match held on April 8, part of the 29th round of the Roshn Saudi League. The committee issued a stern warning to Jaissle, emphasizing that any repetition of such behavior would lead to more severe consequences.
Additionally, Ivan Toney has been fined 90,000 Saudi Riyals (around 24,000 USD). His punishment comes after he posted content on Instagram that was deemed to be derogatory towards match officials and incited public opinion. Toney has been cautioned against similar future conduct.
Winderson Galeno also received a penalty amounting to 50,000 Saudi Riyals (equivalent to 13,300 USD) following his post on the platform X after the same match. At 29 years old, Galeno was warned by the committee not to engage in actions that could provoke public sentiment again.
