Bahrain’s Public Prosecution has announced major judicial rulings against three individuals convicted in a case involving membership of a terrorist organization and activities carried out on its behalf.

The High Criminal Court issued life imprisonment sentences against all three individuals during its hearing on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The court also ordered the confiscation of BD1,313 connected to the offences, along with other seized materials, according to a statement issued by the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Terrorism Crimes Prosecution.

The case began after security authorities received intelligence concerning the individuals’ alleged involvement with an organization planning hostile activities against the Kingdom of Bahrain. Investigations conducted by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science supported the information received. According to prosecutors, the organization was involved in plans intended to disrupt public order, endanger national security and threaten the country’s social and economic interests through actions capable of intimidating civilians and obstructing the work of public institutions.

Investigators established that the three individuals had been assigned separate tasks inside Bahrain in connection with the organization’s activities. Following the initial report, the Public Prosecution questioned the suspects and stated that they admitted the details of the conduct attributed to them. Prosecutors also collected witness statements and commissioned technical experts to examine electronic devices recovered during the investigation. According to the official statement, the forensic examination produced findings supporting the allegations and evidence presented in the criminal proceedings.

After completing the investigation, prosecutors referred the three individuals to the High Criminal Court for trial. The court examined the case over several hearings before delivering its judgment. The Public Prosecution stated that the proceedings included the legal safeguards applicable to criminal trials, including the presence of defence lawyers and opportunities for the defendants to present their arguments. Following its examination of the evidence, the court convicted all three individuals and imposed life sentences, alongside the confiscation of the specified funds and seized materials.

The Public Prosecution reaffirmed its commitment to investigating crimes connected to terrorist organizations and pursuing legal action against individuals found responsible for participating in activities threatening Bahrain’s security and national interests. The judgments represent a significant development in the case, although available reporting does not establish whether all appeal procedures have been exhausted. The official announcement also did not confirm the nationalities of those convicted or identify the organization involved, making it important to avoid unsupported assumptions about either detail.
