Kuwait’s Ministry of Education has officially opened applications for new academic development opportunities aimed at eligible employees seeking to complete their university education and obtain a bachelor’s degree. The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s approved scholarship and study leave plans for the 2026–2027 academic year, covering educational pathways both inside and outside Kuwait.

The official announcement was issued on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, introducing five approved study plans covering funded scholarships and unpaid study leave arrangements. The opportunities are subject to the relevant eligibility requirements and are designed to support professional development and improve the academic qualifications of Ministry employees.

The Ministry emphasized that the initiative is intended specifically for its own eligible employees and should not be interpreted as a general scholarship announcement open automatically to all citizens and expatriate residents. Applicants must satisfy the conditions governing their employment status and chosen study pathway.

The application process is conducted electronically through the Ministry’s Taa platform, accessible via its official website. The final deadline for submitting applications is Saturday, November 7, 2026, making it essential for interested employees to complete their preparations before the registration period ends.

Applicants may amend a draft application or cancel and resubmit it during the permitted registration period. However, the Ministry stated that the ability to make modifications or cancel submissions will close two days before the overall registration deadline.

This makes early submission particularly important for employees who may need to correct personal information, update academic records or provide additional documentation before their application is considered complete.

The available pathways include bachelor’s degree programs at Kuwait University, the College of Basic Education and selected private universities and educational institutions within Kuwait and abroad, depending on the relevant approved study plan.

Published details identify eight specializations under the Kuwait University study leave pathway, including artificial intelligence, physics and English language studies. The College of Basic Education pathway includes mathematics, Arabic language and English language specializations.

Additional funded scholarship and unpaid study leave opportunities are available through approved private universities and institutions outside Kuwait, subject to the published lists of eligible specializations and the conditions established for each pathway.

The Ministry has also provided specific arrangements for eligible employees with disabilities who wish to complete their bachelor’s degrees. Under the relevant plan, these applicants are exempt from the service-duration and specialization requirements, while remaining subject to the other applicable regulations.

Employees applying under this category must submit a recent certificate issued by the Public Authority for Disability Affairs, together with the other required application materials.

It is important to distinguish the opportunity to apply from automatic admission or financial approval. Applications remain subject to the Ministry’s assessment procedures, available study plans, governing regulations and admission requirements of the relevant educational institutions.

Employees should carefully examine the requirements associated with their intended specialization, including academic qualifications, employment conditions and supporting documentation, before finalizing their applications.

The Ministry’s published guidance also directs applicants who require technical support or clarification to the relevant development and training administration in Jabriya, where inquiries concerning registration difficulties may be addressed.

With the November 7 deadline approaching, eligible employees are encouraged to submit their applications promptly and review all information before the separate deadline for modifying or cancelling submitted requests.

The initiative reflects the Ministry of Education’s continuing efforts to expand academic development opportunities for employees while maintaining a structured selection process based on approved educational plans and institutional needs.

Applicants should use the Ministry’s official website and electronic platform to confirm the latest instructions, submit their required information and monitor any updates relating to the application process.
