The UAE has completed arrangements to transfer passengers to Tel Aviv following the temporary suspension of flydubai services to the Israeli destination, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said.
Since Friday, October 2, a total of 37 flights have operated from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion Airport, carrying 7,479 passengers, according to the authority.
The flights were arranged as an alternative for travellers affected by the suspension of regularly scheduled flydubai services. The GCAA said the measures were intended to maintain travel options for passengers during the disruption.
UAE authorities issued permits allowing Israeli airlines to operate flights to Dubai. These services operated alongside flights run by Etihad Airways, which the GCAA said continues to fly to Tel Aviv under its existing schedule.
The authority also said coordination had been completed for passengers whose journeys were disrupted and who had been left stranded, adding that they had returned to their destinations.
The GCAA said it remains in contact with the relevant authorities and airlines to support the continuity of air transport services and assist passengers.
