In a decisive security operation highlighting ongoing vigilance, Kuwait’s General Department for Drug Control announced the arrest of 10 suspects involved in multiple cases, following intensive surveillance and targeted field operations aimed at dismantling drug trafficking and abuse networks across the country.
Authorities revealed that the seizures included significant quantities of illegal substances, notably 1 kilogram and 10 grams of methamphetamine, along with 2,218 capsules of Lyrica and 2 kilograms of Lyrica powder, indicating a sophisticated supply chain and distribution activity within illicit markets.
Additional confiscated items included 5 grams of hashish, 4 Captagon pills, and 8 psychotropic tablets, as well as 60 bottles of alcoholic beverages, reflecting the diversity of substances circulating illegally and the increasing complexity of drug-related threats facing the community.
The operation also uncovered 3 firearms and two precision scales commonly used in drug preparation and distribution, in addition to 8,179 Kuwaiti dinars suspected to be proceeds from trafficking activities, reinforcing suspicions of organized criminal involvement behind these cases.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that all suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action, stressing that security campaigns will continue with full force to combat drug trafficking, while urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious behavior to safeguard national security.
