The UAE Ministry of Defence announced the detection of four mobile missiles coming from Iran towards the country's airspace, in a remarkable security development that reflects the vigilance of the Defence system and its ability to deal immediately with potential air threats.
The ministry said in an official statement that air Defence systems were able to successfully intercept and destroy three missiles over the country's territorial waters, while the fourth missile fell into the sea without resulting in any significant damage or direct effects on residential or vital areas.
On the other hand, the Director General of the Kuwaiti General Authority for Civil Aviation, confirmed that Kuwait International Airport is fully ready for immediate operation once the approval of the competent authorities is issued, stressing that passenger security and safety is the top priority in all operational operations within the airport.
Al-Otaibi explained that the current security measures are precautionary steps aimed at ensuring the highest levels of protection, despite causing temporary inconvenience to some travelers, stressing that these actions are essential to safeguard lives and property under the current circumstances.
He stated that Kuwait International Airport is expected to return soon to its pre-attack operational status following the Iranian assault, while ongoing efforts continue to enhance performance and improve operational efficiency in line with international aviation standards.
He noted that passenger movement is being carefully managed to ensure smooth flow from parking areas to terminals, adding that buses are currently being used instead of jet bridges for security reasons, with plans to reinstate the previous system after completing evaluations.
Al-Otaibi also highlighted that special facilities have been provided for elderly passengers and people with disabilities, including electric carts and elevators, while the main terminal entrance is expected to reopen in the coming days following coordination with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Interior and the Fire Force.
