The Western Australian State Government has officially decided to launch a one-off $100 "Fuel Support Payment" for all valid driver's licence holders.
Introduced as a core cost-of-living measure in the state budget, this direct cash handout is engineered to provide immediate economic relief to families struggling against rising fuel costs and inflation at the pump.
Under the newly finalized guidelines, the subsidy becomes available on July 1, 2026.
The cash injection applies broadly across the transport sector, extending to full licence holders, learner's permit holders, provisional drivers (P-platers), and extraordinary licence holders.
However, individuals with cancelled, suspended, or expired licences are entirely excluded from the scheme.
Eligible motorists can claim their $100 payment digitally through the official ServiceWA mobile application, though alternative non-digital application pathways will be provided for those unable to use the app.
Financial experts note that while a $100 payout offers localized relief, drivers should still leverage digital fuel-tracking platforms to monitor regional pricing cycles and stretch their household budgets further.
